Modifications and internal structure of
aluminium horse float.
This was definitely an interesting project. It was brought to me as a rolling structure and I had to set up all of the
internal barwork and some minor changes to the structure. All bar work was tig welded to ensure full penetration
welds even though it was 65x35 duragal. Two of the front bars needed to be expandable so I used 25x50 for the
internals with brass slides so they were easy to slide out and in. All of the plates welded to the body were 100x20
and 100x25 aluminium bar stock cut drilled and tapped and then welded on. I also reinforced the threads with recoil
inserts. All of the pivot points and catches were custom made and powdercoated aluminium silver and bolted on. I
also had to add stiffening rails down the sides for reinforcement and to stop the sides moving. That was all followed
by some work to the front and rear doors, including a better hinge system and provision to lift and lower the rear
door using an electric winch I will post more pics shortly

Stainless Barbecue
A Stainless Steel barbecue for a regular customer, 4 burners with a wok ring and a warmer tray underneath. Made
from 1.2mm food grade stainless, it was built up from a stainless food processing tray that the customer supplied.
The hotplate is 6mm mild steel with folded sides and a grease channel and drain at the back.

Tandem Trailer Rebuild
This tandem trailer was in good condition underneath but the sheetmetal was rusted out. Replaced the sides
with 2mm sheet, the floor is 3mm chequer plate and the new wheel arches are 1.6mm. Also fully rewired it, led
lights, improved number plate and rego label mounting so they dont get torn off, straightened up the drawbar
and reinforced it with a cross brace. Like a brand new one now.
